Summary: Ed and Ren hang out at the castle and are cute.
T!Ed: *twitches in his sleep, making small, soft noises and rolling over, curling closer to Ren and opening his eyes after a little while, blinking in the morning light blearily*
C!Evy: *has been lying there watching him for hours, reaching up to brush fingers down his arm* You awake, love?
T!Ed: Mmhmm... *smiles sleepily, letting his eyes close after a few moments and wrapping arms around Ren loosely* Morning.
C!Evy: *kisses his shoulder softly, fingers resting on his arm* Good morning. Did you sleep well? You seemed quite peaceful.
T!Ed: Better than I have for a while. *shivers faintly at the kiss, nuzzling against his throat lightly*
C!Evy: *slips arms around him, hugging him tightly with a smile* I am very glad to hear that. You were tired enough, at least. *grins wickedly*
T!Ed: *flushes, hiding his face against his neck* Er, well... No rest for the wicked? *grins lamely against his skin, nipping gently*
C!Evy: *makes a soft sound, arching his neck* I believe I am living proof of that last statement. *laughs* I missed watching you sleep.
T!Ed: *laps lightly at the skin of his neck* I missed you watching you me sleep... I forgot how safe it made me feel. *smiles sheepishly*
C!Evy: *shivers, moving to give better access to his neck and stroking Ed's hair lightly, watching him with a slight smile* Good. You should feel safe with a homunculus as guard.
T!Ed: *purrs softly, nuzzling along his jaw* It's just been a long time since you've been back, since I could actually sleep without worrying...
C!Evy: No worrying now. *smiles more, kissing him lingeringly, stroking his hair and feeling generally at peace with the world*
T!Ed: *kisses back, rubbing thier noses together lightly* I love you so, so much. I don't think I can ever say that enough.
C!Evy: *laughs softly, running a finger down his cheekbone and giving him another quick kiss* Then it is a good thing I understand precisely how you feel, love.
T!Ed: Mm, good... *shivers, returning the kiss and just laying in his arms* We should probably get dressed soon. We could take a walk through the garden today...
C!Evy: Mmmhm, that sounds good. You should have seen the light at sunrise. It was lovely. *rubs his back slowly* Want breakfast first?
T!Ed: I wish I could have seen it... *smiles softly, pressing into his hands* Could we? We could take it outside and have a picnic.
C!Evy: You looked too peaceful. I did not want to wake you. Besides, you had only been asleep an hour. *grins deviously* Sure. The servants have been moving around for hours, I could hear them. We can probably just let them know what we want and have it served out there.
T!Ed: *pouts, reaching to poke Ren's nose* You're terrible, you know? I hardly get any sleep as it is anymore, then you keep me up all night. *kisss his cheek quickly* We should let them know soon, then.
C!Evy: Oh? Should I have let you get to sleep, then? *smirks, sitting up and looking around for underwear* Want me to go do it while you get dressed? I can just run downstairs and let them know.
T!Ed: *sticks his tongue out* No. You should have just kept fucking me, even now~ *hums, pleased with himself, and sits up with a stretch* You wouldn't mind? It'll take me a few moments to get dressed anyway.
C!Evy: *tugs on his boxers and starts rummaging through the closet* Well then why am I even bothering getting dressed, anyway? *laughs* Alright, sure. What would you like for breakfast? Anything in particular? *glances back at him* Do you need help with anything? Just let me know.
T!Ed: I should be able to get everything alright. *leans over the edge of the bed to tug his wheelchair closer, sliding into it carefully* Mmm... I'm not too picky. Anything good. ...Maybe some strawberries, they should be good this time of the year.
C!Evy: Alright. I will be back in a minute if you change your mind. *runs the brush through his hair a few times, shaking it back and adjusting his tunic, admiring himself in the mirror before heading for the door* Strawberries it is~ I will be right back.
T!Ed: *watches him appreciatively as he changes and leaves, wheeling himself over to the wardrobe and taking out a pair of black trousers and a simple white tunic for himself before heading back over to the bed to start changing*
C!Evy: *hurries downstairs, smiling a hello to one of the maids as she goes about her work, slipping into the kitchen to talk to the kitchen staff*
T!Ed: *has a fight with his pants before getting them on with a triumphant smile, pinning back the leg of his missing one before slipping his shirt on and brushing his hair*
C!Evy: *comes back upstairs, stopping off at one of the landings to look out one of the huge stone-framed windows out at the sunny garden before continuing back up to the bedroom* Breakfast will be served in the garden in fifteen minutes, pretty. Complete with lots of fresh strawberries.
T!Ed: *looks over at him giddly, having just finished playing with his hair and deciding to keep it down* Should we head down there now?
C!Evy: Sure! *leans down to kiss him deeply with a soft sound in his throat* You look lovely.
T!Ed: *kisses back with a small moan, blushing deeply* I look like a damned cripple.
C!Evy: *strokes fingers down his throat slowly* Well, be that as it may, you are still gorgeous. You are mine and you are perfect. Now come on. We are eating in the gazebo.
T!Ed: *eyelids flutter with a breathy sigh before having a thought* ...How am I getting downstairs?
C!Evy: You didn't bring your crutch, did you? *raises his eyebrows questioningly*
T!Ed: *shakes his head, biting his lip* Only the wheelchair.
C!Evy: Well then you shall get down the same way you got up. I will help you. ...Goodness, why do castles need so many stairs? I would have a lift installed if the serving staff would not die of shock. *starts for the door again after grabbing his sunglasses off the dresser and holding the door for him* Come on.
T!Ed: *follows after him, laughing* Are you really going to wear your sunglasses with that? *gestures to his outfit with a grin*
C!Evy: *huffs haughtily, rolling his eyes and slipping them onto his head* Yes, I am. Have you seen how sunny it gets here? And don't laugh at me or I will leave you at the top of the stairs. *teasing smirk, moving toward the top of the stairs*
T!Ed: I'll just push myself down the stairs and then you'll be sorry. *snuffs airly, stopping a good foot from the top of the stairs* ...I forgot how many there were.
C!Evy: Oh, haha. *rolls his eyes again* So did I. Careful- *reaches to help him up*
T!Ed: *holds onto him tightly, standing on his one leg and leaning into Ren*
C!Evy: I'm going to carry you, alright? Otherwise it would take forever. *reaches to lift him carefully*
T!Ed: Thank you. *wraps arms around his neck and kisses his cheek* Erm... If we just eat at the garden, should we we take the wheelchair?
C!Evy: *smiles at the kiss* If you'd like to leave it here, sure. Should we want it, we can just send for it. *uses a semi-free hand to tug it aside before starting down the stairs*
T!Ed: Alright. *smiles a little, leaning his head against his shoulder and playing with Ren's hair idly as he walks*
C!Evy: You haven't been using the crutch much recently, hm? How come? *picks his way carefully*
T!Ed: *falters, frowning a little* I haven't felt like doing much...
C!Evy: *nods* Mm, I understand. *smiles comfortingly, kissing his forehead* I'll get that extra wheelchair as soon as we get home, so you won't have to worry.
T!Ed: *squeezes his shoulders lightly* Thank you... *sighs softly* I'll do more for you, I promise. I wasn't the only one that had a rough time. *bites his lip*
C!Evy: *smiles more, turning a corner and going down another staircase* Not the only one? What do you mean? You're talking about me?
T!Ed: *nods against his shoulder* I mean, when we were - were... *trails off, feeling momentarily sick at the thought of that place*
C!Evy: Shh, don't worry about it now, love. We're fine. And don't worry about me, either. I am fine. They were not very creative with me, aside from those stupid bone shards in my brain. Let's just have breakfast and enjoy ourselves, alright? *starts down the hall of mirrors*
T!Ed: *murmurs an apology against his neck* I should stop thinking about it.
C!Evy: Don't apologize, Edward. It was horrible for you, I know. You needn't worry about anything now but feeling better. Here, of all places, we are most certainly safe.
T!Ed: It doesn't matter where we are anymore... I feel safe now that I have you back. *smiles a little, blushing and snuggling closer*
C!Evy: *surprised a second, not expecting that sentence to end the way it did* That makes me gladder than you know. *comes out into the sunlight, shifting Ed a little so he can slip his sunglasses over his eyes and moving toward the gazebo*
T!Ed: *blinks in the sunlight, actually kind of surprised at how bright it is and squeezing Ren's shoulders briefly*
C!Evy: See why I brought the sunglasses? *laughs, circumnavigating a small pond with a fountain bubbling at it's center and moving up the three stairs into the gazebo, setting Ed down carefully in one of the cushioned chairs*
T!Ed: I still think you're crazy, beautiful. *settles himself into the chair with a smile, streching a little and looking around the garden*
C!Evy: *ducking to kiss him before messing his hair with a derisive sniff* Homunculi are not made for such bright places. We are sinister denizens of the night. *smiles brightly, leaning over the railing to pick a bright golden zinnia, presenting it to Ed before sitting down*
T!Ed: *sticks his tongue out, smoothing back his hair* And I'm just a golden beam of sunshine, aren't I? *smirks before blushing deeply at the sight of the flower, taking it carefully*
C!Evy: Haven't I already told you never to say those words? *laughs, leaning back in his chair*
T!Ed: Maybe. I could have always forgotten when I died. *smiles sweetly, tucking the flower into his hair*
C!Evy: You see? Morbidity suits you so much better. *takes his hand to kiss the back of it softly, hearing the side-door from the kitchens open and close around the far wing of the house*
T!Ed: Does not. *blushes more at the kiss, ducking his head a little and looking in the direction of the kitchen* ...I should have worn my crown.
C!Evy: Wear it for dinner this evening. We can make it a formal affair. *smiles happily, catching sight of a couple of kitchen staff bearing trays of food appearing around the wing*
T!Ed: *grins back just as happily, smiling at the staff as they set the food down and leave with a bow, eyes going wide at the sight of the strawberries*
C!Evy: *nods dutifully as the servants depart, assuring them that they will ask should they need anything else, before beginning to take the silver covers off the dishes* Ooh, blackberries, too. I cannot remember the last time I had those.
T!Ed: *wriggles in his seat excitedly* ...I can't remember the last time I had fresh fruit, period. I didn't eat much when I got back. *small, sheepish smile*
C!Evy: Yes, I can tell. *raises an eyebrow in reference to Ed's obvious skinnyness, pushing a plate of eggs and toast and various breakfasty things toward him* Eat. *munches some blackberries contentedly*
T!Ed: Do I really look that bad? *frowns faintly, digging in with gusto*
C!Evy: Bad? Goodness, no. *pours some tea and passes a cup to Edward before pouring another for himself* You just look barely this side of emaciated. That should be easily fixed, though.
T!Ed: Thanks. *takes the tea cup, having a sip* ...I couldn't bring myself to eat while I was there. Just enough so that they kept me off the feeding tube. *shudders faintly, near polishing off his eggs*
C!Evy: Well thank goodness for that. I am sure that Clara kept you well-fed, though. While you were at her place? But then the hospital, and I know how you are about eating while there. *stirs some cream into his tea and drops in two lumps of sugar before taking a sip*
T!Ed: *shakes his head with a small jerk* I was never hungry. I slept most of the time and was read to...
C!Evy: *raises his eyebrows, amused, over his teacup* Read to?
T!Ed: *blushes deeply, keeping his eyes on the plate* ...Hei read me books, and Alfons would sing me to sleep...
C!Evy: *eyebrows go higher* Goodness. You were better taken care of than I had imagined. *smiles, putting a couple handfuls of berries onto a small plate and setting it in front of himself*
T!Ed: *twitches a little at the memories, nodding quickly and slowing down as he eats, feeling sick at eating so fast*
C!Evy: *notices the look on his face with a wry smile* Pace yourself, sweetheart, goodness. *nudges Ed's foot with his own beneath the table, drinking some more tea* I am glad you have such devoted friends.
T!Ed: *blushes more, tapping his foot back* I am too...
C!Evy: *laughs sheepishly* If Hei did not loathe me as he does, I would thank him personally. ...Alfons, too, I suppose.
T!Ed: I'm sure you could still tell them that. *shrugs a little, munching on a strawberry*
C!Evy: Well, yes. But it might seem a tad trite. *shrugs, unconcerned* What else would you like to do today?
T!Ed: *smiles shyly, glancing up at Ren quickly* Anything... Just anything, as long as I can do it with you.
C!Evy: *grins back, finishing his blackberries* Well that goes without saying, love.
T!Ed: It does, it's true. *laughs before grinning slyly* We could always have a repeat of last night, just somewhere else..~
C!Evy: *almost snorts his tea* ...We could. Is that all you want to do here? *chuckling*
T!Ed: ...I haven't gotten any for five weeks, excluding last night. We're making up for lost time whether you like it or not.
C!Evy: Yes, yes. Obviously. *smirks, finishing his tea and pouring himself some more* More tea? And don't worry, I plan on consecrating a good few more rooms before we are done with this vacation. I just thought you might like to go into down or some such.
T!Ed: Yes, please. *holds out his cup* I wouldn't mind going into town. It's been ages.
C!Evy: *pours him more tea, nudging the tea tray of cream, sugar, and lemon toward him just in case he decides to stop being a heathen and actually take something for his tea* It has been. I am glad I just had the staff take quarters in the castle, so there is constant care. This place is really lovely.
T!Ed: *rolls his eyes, taking the hint, and squeezes a bit of lemon into his tea before adding a small amount of cream and stirring* I'm still in shock that you got me my own castle, you know.
C!Evy: *raises an eyebrow at the tea-action, saying nothing but grinning at his words* Still? It has been months! Before we were married, even.
T!Ed: Yeah, but still. I can't believe you got me one. *laughs, sipping at his tea before spitting it out back into the cup, spluttering and making a face*
C!Evy: *raises his eyebrows* You put lemon in with cream. ...What were you expecting? *trying not to look amused*
T!Ed: Not that. *pushes the cup away, gagging a little*
C!Evy: *chuckles softly, pushing his own cup towards him* Here, drink this, it'll get the taste out. *takes Ed's cup and tosses the contents over the railing of the gazebo, rinsing it with clean water from the pitcher, and pouring him some fresh tea*
T!Ed: *sips at the tea gratefully* How can you put that stuff in it?
C!Evy: What stuff? The sugar and cream? That's what is in what you are drinking. The acid in the lemon curdles the cream, genius. *eats a strawberry*
T!Ed: Like I was supposed to know that. *takes his fresh cup of tea, eyeing the other tea things with suspicion.*
C!Evy: ...How far did you get in school, anyway? *highly amused, taking some toast for himself and eating it slowly* You are a genius, besides. Or so you claim. *wriggles his eyebrows*
T!Ed: What do you mean, how far did I get in school? *raises his eyebrows, expecting some sort of jab about his tea mishap*
C!Evy: ...Er, I mean how far did you get in school. Primary school, secondary school? I know you at least attempted college before your life took a turn for the... interesting. I do assume they teach basic chemistry in there somewhere. *ready to dodge if need be*
T!Ed: ... *chucks a strawberry at him, scowling*
C!Evy: *catches the strawberry, fumbling it a second before eating it happily*
T!Ed: I've been through primary school and some of secondary school, thank you. *makes a face at him* I left when I joined the military. Not much choice.
C!Evy: Not much choice? Really? Were you drafted? I do not think I ever asked you that before...*makes a face back* Good strawberries.
T!Ed: Sort of. That was after I brought my mother back, and they sent someone over to bring me to the military. Went because I wanted stuff. *shrugs*
C!Evy: Hm. *nods, comprehending* Wanted stuff? ...Or do I want to ask that...
T!Ed: Money, power... Things like that. Mostly power.
C!Evy: *grins, narrowing his eyes a little* So many questions of your attraction to me are answered.~
T!Ed: *shivers, glancing away, a faint flush creeping into his cheeks* It's different with us.
C!Evy: *tilts his head in question, finishing his toast* How so?
T!Ed: I love you. *looks at him shyly, fiddling with hands in his lap*
C!Evy: *smiles, warmly now* I love you, Edward. I love you so much I don't know what to do with myself sometimes. Perhaps I should rephrase that last to questions about your initial attraction to me.
T!Ed: *smiles back* I want nothing more than to be with you for the rest of my life.
C!Evy: *laughs softly, almost shyly* Good thing you married me, then.
T!Ed: Wouldn't ever want to marry anyone else. *grins, blushing*
C!Evy: Well that is certainly good to hear. *meets his eyes, amused* But whether you want nothing more or not, prepare to be doted upon. I cannot keep missing important dates like this.
T!Ed: Well it's not like you could help either... *fidgets a little, flustered* Even with my birthday, there were things going on and we did end up going to that one resteraunt.
C!Evy: We did. But the fact remains that fate or life or whatever it is keeps intervening and causing me to want to spend inordinate amounts of money on you.
T!Ed: You don't have to, Ren...
C!Evy: Of course I don't. *looks at him with a clear "duh"* Do you wish me not to?
T!Ed: ...I like it when you dote on me... *looks down at the table, embarrassed*
C!Evy: Hey-... *reaches for his hand* You think I enjoyed sitting on heaps of money without anyone to spend it on for seven centuries? It was horridly boring!
T!Ed: *squeezes his hand with a small shrug* I just feel weird still when you do. It's something that's going to take me a long time to get used to.
C!Evy: I guess what I should really ask is does it make you uncomfortable or do you feel weird in a bad way? I do not wish to impose. I guess... *bites his lip* ...It is a way for me to manifest my affection, since I am still getting used to physical closeness and... romance.
T!Ed: No, no... Not weird in a bad way, just something I'm not used to, I suppose. Everything was always a trade, so it's just different. *smiles wanly*
C!Evy: Ah, well. *plays with his fingers idly* Not anymore, love. I've quite grown into the whole... supportive spouse routine. *laughs kind of shyly*
T!Ed: *blushes faintly, wriggling fingers for him* I rather like it, to be honest. It's... nice. Which is an understatement.
C!Evy: *grins* Well that makes me feel good. I... I never really thought I would enjoy having someone. Companionship, I mean. It just never occurred to me.
T!Ed: I never thought I would either. *shrugs* I mean, there were always people. There always would be people, but it's just different, you know?
C!Evy: It is very different. Although, from the different end of the spectrum for me. Um, I know it is strange to ask, but, do you need anything? Anything at all. I mean that in a practical sense because I know how stubborn you are with asking for things.
T!Ed: *bites his lip, shaking his head with a quick jerk* I just... I don't want to think about it anymore. It hurts too much to think about...
C!Evy: *tilts his head* What? No, Edward, I just meant as in simple material things. *not sure he wants to ask how Ed interpreted that*
T!Ed: Oh, I thought you meant... *rubs a hand distractedly over his arm where the scars are* No. No, I don't need anything.
C!Evy: *raises his eyebrows* You alright? And sure. Just let me know. The thing I worry most about I guess is all of those stairs in our apartment. Although, I do not know what would help with that.
T!Ed: Second wheelchair is fine... *hesitates a moment before shaking his head*
C!Evy: Alright. *smiles brightly, trying to cheer him up again, pouring glass of water and sticking the zinnia in it* So, we are going into town? Anything else?
T!Ed: Could we not go into town, maybe? I don't feel like it anymore... *worries at his lip a moment* We could always take the carriage through the countryside, though.
C!Evy: *nods* Of course, pretty. We could take the road out of town, around the woods. There are some very picturesque fields out that way.
T!Ed: Can we go now? *glances at him briefly*
C!Evy: *laughs quietly, nodding* Sure. Shall I go let the servants know to take the dishes and prepare the carriage? Or would you rather I take you upstairs first?
T!Ed: I can wait out here while you do that. *smiles a little*
C!Evy: Alright. *goes over and kisses him softly* You're feeling fine?
T!Ed: *kisses back* I've been better. I'll be alright, beautiful.
C!Evy: *strokes his hair* Okay, pretty. I'll be right back. Oh- *hangs back a second* you are just staying downstairs before we leave, right? Or did you need anything from the bedroom?
T!Ed: I don't need anything right now, it's alright. *smiles softly*
C!Evy: Be right back, then. *smiles back before heading towards the main doors to the garden*
T!Ed: *watches him go, slumping in the chair a little and rolling up the sleeve of his right arm, inspecting the thin white scars*
C!Evy: *returns a few minutes later, having alerted a maid to go and tell the stablehands to begin preparation and locate the driver, and to have someone clear the breakfast things, and then run upstairs to collect the wheelchair, unfolding it below the gazebo steps* You ready?
T!Ed: *sits up and smiles over at him, pushing his sleeve back down* Yeah, I'm ready.
C!Evy: Great. The carriage should be ready soon. *reaches to help him to standing, arm under both of Ed's*
T!Ed: *clings to him as he stands, nuzzling at his jaw briefly with a faint grin*
C!Evy: *grins back, giving him a quick kiss* Feeling better, sweetheart? *starts walking slowly toward the steps, supporting Ed around his back*
T!Ed: *kind of hop-walks beside him, feeling ridiculous* Yeah, some.
C!Evy: *scoops him up to get him down the stairs, setting him in the wheelchair gently* Just take it easy, alright?
T!Ed: I will, beautiful.*smiles up at him from his spot in the wheelchair*
C!Evy: Want to just wander around the garden a little while we wait? *smiles back, glancing around the garden contentedly*
T!Ed: Would you mind? *grips the wheels of the wheelchair, blushing*
C!Evy: Why would I mind? *laughs* What on earth are you blushing about?
T!Ed: Nothing~ *sniffs with mock-haughtily, rolling off down the garden path*
C!Evy: What? *laughing, follows, pulling his hair back into a ponytail*
T!Ed: Nothing~ *sticks his tongue out at him from over his shoulder, giving him a silly grin*
C!Evy: *still laughing, shaking his head and catching up, leaning down to catch the back of his wheelchair, wrapping arms around his shoulders and kissing his cheek* You are positively maddening.
T!Ed: *tilts his head back to kiss his chin* I am not~
C!Evy: Are too. *feeling particularly blissful, straightening to allow Ed further movement, going over to survey the pond*
T!Ed: *follows after him, stopping next to him and watching the fish swimming along near the water's surface*
C!Evy: *watching the fish as well* Look happy, don't they.
T!Ed: Well cared for, too. *blinks*
C!Evy: *chuckles softly* I should hope so, with the number of staff.
T!Ed: Yeah, and I'd rather they be happy too. ...We have any toast left? ...You think they'd eat toast?
C!Evy: The fish? Um, yeah, maybe if you tore off little bits. I think I left some crust, let me go get it. *moves off to retrieve it*
T!Ed: *calls after him* Thanks!
C!Evy: Mmhm! *gets the crust, coming back and handing it to Ed* Here, try that.
T!Ed: *takes the crust, crumbling it up and tossing little bits into the pond, wriggling delightedly as a catfish surfaces to snap it up*
C!Evy: *crouches down next to the pool, watching the fish with interest, not used to taking time out of his day to scrutinize lesser life forms, save humans* Odd looking little things.
T!Ed: They're kind of cute, in a weird way. *throws in more crumbs, watching as a second fish surfaces to snap at the toast before the first can*
C!Evy: Like you. *grins teasingly up at him*
T!Ed: *rolls his eyes* Should I grow a funny looking mustache to imitate the whiskers?
C!Evy: ...No, no you shouldn't. I was taking the statement at face-value, dear.
T!Ed: Sure you were, dearest.
C!Evy: *swats at his shoulder before repositioning himself carefully on Ed's half-lap, looping arms around his neck* Is this comfortable?
T!Ed: It's fine. *kisses his check, wrapping arms around his waist*
C!Evy: *rests his head on Ed's shoulder, closing his eyes with a contented smile* Mm. Good.

Good.
