Sees Clara and starts talking awkwardly while moving into the room* Hello. Are you Clara? I'm Sheska. Umm, sorry for barging in... Edward invited me I hope that's ok...

*blinks, standing, then smiles warmly* Barging in? No, of course not, welcome! I'm Clara, yes, nice to meet you! Um... which Edward? Sorry, I know a couple....

*she seems pretty nice* Nice to meet you. Edward Elric told me about this ... party... here- your house party. *looking for a way to escape from an awkward sentence, remembers her gift and thrusts it forward* This is for you. It's a house-warming gift. *looking around* You have a nice house.

Oh, Edward Elric, yes. How do you know him? *blinks, accepting the gift, smiling awkwardly* Ah... house-warming gift? Um, I haven't just moved in or anything, I've lived here for a year and a half, actually... um, but it's very thoughtful of you! Really, you didn't have to bring anything... but thank you! Thank you very much! And, um, thank you, I'm very fortunate to be able to live here....

I met him when he was doing research on the Philosopher's Stone. You see I work in the millitary too. *totally feeling she has to justify her friendship* We've been friends a long time but got out of touch the last few years, umm, so that's how I know him. He's a good guy.

*blink blink, growing dismay, talking faster and faster* Not house-warming umm, umm, I know you didn't just move in but- what's the word then? It's a hello-gift? *fluster fluster* You see I just moved into a new apartment and so that's what was on my mind and this gift is just for you to say "hello I hope we can be friends" ... they're coasters.

Oh, you're in the military as well? *would not have guessed that* What do you do? *smiles* He is, isn't he? I've only made his acquaintance relatively recently.

*smiles warmly, laughing a little* Oh, I see... yes, well, again, thank you! Congratulations on your new apartment! And... "hello I hope we can be friends" to you too... um, Sheska, you said? *laughs a little more, lightly, opening the gift... yes indeed they are coasters* Oh, how lovely... again, very thoughtful, thank you!

((OMFG SO CUTE!!! ...Also, it just occurred to me... Sheska would be her last name, wouldn't it? I can't find any official mention of her first name... just her rank of Private. ...I guess you get to make one up! :DDD ))

*nod nod* I'm a Private. I did a lot of work recovering the books from when the first branch library burnt down *grumble* but now I mostly keep track of records and do fact checking. I really want to do investigative research, I like reading and coming up with theories. *Julia Douglas was totally an alien* Ed saved my books from certain demise, I cannot thank him enough.

*feels like she was fishing for congrats, embarrassed again* Yeah, new apartment. Maybe I should have a housewarming party and meet more people in the neighborhood. Well I suppose there are lots of people here too. You can call me Private Sheska, but, uh, you don't have to, most people call me Sheska. *glad the coasters are liked* I thought coasters would be good because everyone has... drinks. *abrupt change in subject, she reiterates* You have a nice house.

I like lots of books. *begins counting them off on her fingers but gets too excited* Autobiographies, biographies, satires, tragedies, poetry, thrillers, romance novels, *not mentioning erotic literature* journals and diaries, travel literature, instruction manuals, realism, magical realism, fantasy, historical fiction, mystery fiction, horror fiction, science fiction, non-fiction. Literary criticisms, comedies, children's literature, epic poems, fables, plays. Essays, dissertations, textbooks, legal records, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, almanacs, birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, warning signs... oh, but you just asked about books, heheh. I really like reading.

*big sigh* Thank you, I'm famished.

*managed to get himself horribly lost during that whole 8-year-old spell, has only just finished hiking his way back to Central; stopped by his co-worker's flat for a quick shower and to apologize for missing work, and is now walking around the house with a rather dazed expression (having never really attended a Christmas celebration) looking for Clara*

*looks around, spots him and comes over, smiling big* Mal! There you are! Merry Christmas! Where've you been the past couple days, I was starting to get worried!

*huge grin, waves a little at Clara* Uhh, impromptu vacation? *nervous laugh* Yeaahh ... I was still walking back. I managed to get myself turned around once or twice, but I got here eventually! It's awesome to see you - Merry Christmas. Is this the party, then? I didn't miss it?

You- wha- you were walking back this whole time?! .......Mal, why didn't you take a train or something?! ...What do you mean you got "turned around once or twice"?! *facepalms, then reaches to give him a hug* Yes, this is the party, it's still Christmas Day.

*shrugs, a slightly guilty look at the older-sibling-like scolding* I felt like walking! I've got a coat and everything, and I like the snow! It just makes everything look the same is all, and I kept going too far west. But then I asked people, and they showed me which way to go, and I'm here! *surprised by the hug, arms pinned to his sides for a moment before he extricates them and hugs back* Sweet!

*squeezes him once, then lets him go, giving him a despairing look* Goodness, Mal, you could've frozen to death! *shakes her head* It sure is pretty, though, isn't it? ...What did you do about food and shelter? Oh! Did you only just get in? You must be freezing, come sit by the fire. Or- are you hungry? When's the last time you've eaten? How about some Christmas dinner? *fuss fuss*

*laughs a little, overwhelmed at Clara's fussing* Seriously, Clara, I can take care of myself! I wasn't going to freeze or starve or anything like that. And yeah, I just got here, but I got back to Central this morning. Just had to tell my boss the whole story. But dinner would be good.... *cannot resist the delicious smells much longer* How was your trip? How's the whole crazy city been, when I was gone?

Oh, your job, of course! I hope your boss didn't mind too much you were gone so long.... Well, you come on into the dining room with me, we'll get you fed.... *heads toward the dining room* My trip home? ...It was nice. It's always good to see my family. And Central... far as I know, things have been quiet. *goes into the dining room*
