She used to play IC!Ling Yao back in the day, and also npc'd his companions Fu and Ran Fan and briefly played IC!Izumi Curtis. She's come back to play with us for a bit, yay! There's also a button to this post on the omg_fma userinfo page. Lisa, we've been too lazy to delete your old characters from the Contact Info post... if you would like to post for Vorpal/update any of your info (new IM?), by all means. Maybe at some point I'll get around to booting the inactive characters.

Question Miss Mod!

How much are we taking from omg_alchemist? I noticed there's a few character journals being used by different people from omg_alchemist, so does that mean the old events happened, and this is like a Generation II?

Or is everyone starting on a fresh plate, unless they choose to use the old journals? I'm guessing the "Generation I" group would want to use their old journals, but I wasn't sure if that applied to the new group.

Ah, good question. Theoretically, omg_fma continues exactly where omg_alchemist left off... it's the same game, only on a different community. The only change we've made is IC!Edward Elric... we decided that the massive backlog of history associated with our first Ed would be discouraging to prospective Ed players, and it would be unfair to ask them to play it. But an FMA game would be a sad thing without an Ed. So we decided IC!Edward Elric would be a clean slate... the old Ed NEVER EXISTED. The only people who would know him would be people who knew him in the canon... members of the military, his brother, Winry, etc. The only thing that stayed the same is that the original dimensional fracture is Ed's fault... but the way Hikaranko has been playing, I think her Ed had memory loss, and doesn't remember doing it? It's never been discussed in detail, since none of our current characters know he did it.

Anyway, only Ed has changed. So, no affair with Roy Mustang, no baby. But everything else is the same. Same characters, same history.

Okay! So fm_edelric is the original player's journal, which still has the old entries, but they never happened. Only the in-character players know him, but only as he'd been known in canon.

Do I have that right?

Um, actually, it's a new journal. The old one was so_not_chibi. The rest is correct, though... I mean, since Hika joined the game he has since befriended a number of OOC characters, but he didn't know them prior to that.

I think, originally, when a new player picked up an old character, they were supposed to use the same journal... but at some point within the past couple years we got lazy, and we haven't been enforcing it. Most people picking up old characters make a new journal, but theoretically the contents of the old journal are still part of that character's history. ...Except for Ed. ^_^
